Congratulations New Zealand Geographic

Number 43 July - September 1999.

In the July - September 1999 edition of the New Zealand Geographic, they published a thoroughly researched article, 'The Pottersworld' with wonderful images and lyrical, scientific and historical descriptions, a documentary.

They also profiled Len Castle, New Zealands most prestigious, and almost oldest living ceramic artist, who ranks with the worlds best. His words describe the phenomena of his creations, and his dramatic images exactly illustrate his words.

Thirty-eight stunning pages about pottery in New Zealand, nearly a third of the magazine.
One of the most remarkable things about this article is that it is not a 'designer' type description, such as one is being fed these days through certain clinically perfect picture magazines.

If you haven't subscribed to this magazine, this article will encourage you to do so. We understand it is not easy to keep such magazines afloat as we all know when we think about 'The Potter' and 'Craft NZ'!
Perhaps we could approach the editor and suggest there are many more stories about every craft media, and great artists.

Len Castle - In the making of this lipped bowl, the dry surface of a lump of clay was played off against the moist, plastic clay within.
