Self Portrait
- Brian Adam
I want to introduce frames from historical high points such as 14th century leather frames here brought out of, um, hiding for a new life. These works fit in with my other eyewear jewellery; from my first paua shades of 1984 to the recent surprisingly modern 18th-century-derived silver eyeglasses.

- Pohutakawa Necklace in Silver
The necklace is circular and short, and consists of five sterling pohutakawa leaves, oxididized, which go across the front of the neck, and a crocheted tube of pure silver which goes around the back of the neck. The idea of using the pohutakawa as a motif came to me one day as I swept hundreds off my driveway, fallen from the tree above. I noticed how different in size and shape, and even colour, they were.

- Questor Series
My present series concentrates on the migration of people, symbolised by their different means of transport. - A Tribute to my Mother
Being born up north in Kawakawa and studying at Waiariki Polytechnic doing a craft design diploma had a heavy Maori influence on my work. I thought about it and realised I hadn't really portrayed any of my mum's Cook Island heritage. So I thought I'd start now by carving a stone sculpture with Cook Island influence and call it 'A Tribute to my Mother'.

- Ngatu Ae Taha
I have a fascination and admiration for Polynesian artwork. Polynesians have an amazing sense of appropriate use of material. It is this formal sculptural power combined with refined simplicity that inspires me.

- Life in Paradise
The environment in Rarotonga was always so beautiful and vibrant that I often liked to paint flowers or marine life and people - so my garden inspired me to paint this particular work.
