'Fa'atali Molou Afio Mai' (Waiting to Welcome You)
This work depicts a woman of the Pacific waiting to welcome you. She holds an ula, a flower necklace, as a gift of respect and honour, and wears a lava lava of leaves. The expression is one of peaceful anticipation and a sense of place, and purpose.

Man Carrying a Bunch of Coconuts
This work depicts a young man about to stand up with a bunch of coconuts over his shoulder. The expression is of a a strong man, purposeful and certain of his task.

Clem Mellish
Takaroa
Carved in the shape of a stylized hook with a manaia head from Kahurangi Pounamu. Story is: Takaroa's love of excellence is embodied in the legend of Hei Matau or Special Fish Hooks. These were lowered with normal hooks knowing that Takaroa would reward the excellence of the work with a good catch of his 'children' the fish. The manaia face on the front of this hook shape represents the spirit of Takaroa and the koru shapes in that face and elsewhere portray his ever moving sea realm.
