	Northland Artists Peter Alger Clinker Built Bowl Thrown and altered bowl designed to emulate old style boat construction techniques now rarely employed - called Capstrake in America. The clay emulates overlapping planks on ribs riveted together with copper nails and roves. Warm rich colours fired to 1300 degrees C and soaked held at that temperature for half an hour - a requirment to mature this type of glaze as it is one of the earliest types of glaze, only two materials. The spiral symbolises a life force growing and flourishing.
