Central Otago
The Central Otago District Council has an 'overview' rather than 'hands on' relationship with arts people / organisations. The is a small framing studio in Old Cromwell Town (the historic precinct in Cromwell) and there are small museums in most of the satellite towns in the district.

There are four high schools in the district that offer night classes in the arts. Some of the craft guilds and community arts councils in the district also offer periodic tutorials and training sessions in varying disciplines.

Dunedin
Dunedin has an awesome collection of fine artists and craftspeople. Take the opportuniy to visit them in their studios, workshops and galleries. Do not expect to purchase work at prices less than those you would expect to find in commercial galleries. This is part of the commitment that our artists and craftspeople have to the galleries where their work is exhibited.

Queenstown Lakes District
Craft in the Queenstown Lake District has an abundance of craft around it's district, exploring the themes of our environment - shear mountains and pristine lakes.
